Deepak Chopra has been an influential figure in the alternative health movement and an accomplished medical, alternative practitioner. His most significant novels are Timeless Mind, Ageless Body and The Seven Spiritual Laws of Success, every printed in 1994 and 1993 respectively. However, it wasn’t till sometime in the late eighties he ventured into the realm of self-help writing, together with his first book, Think and Grow Rich.
Though a controversial figure who presents himself as a guru, his books attract a wide range of readers. The principles he promotes have had the effect of establishing him as a pioneer in the alternative self-improvement circles. However, there have always been critics who question the methods that he adopts. Deepak Chopra critics claim that he takes a random approach to self-improvement through motivational saying and self explanatory books. They also point out that his teachings contradict the common belief that knowledge alone will lead to self-improvement.
Deepak Chopra’s method of achieving personal development isn’t far removed from other alternative medicine practices. His basic assumption is that one can achieve a state of personal development by fostering positive thinking in oneself and boosting one’s self-confidence degree. By applying such teachings as the eight-limbed ladder of self-help, one can attain self-actualization, which in turn results in the achievement of the aims set by the mind. As such, Deepak Chopra presents himself as a prominent figure within the alternative medicine community.
However, this doesn’t mean that Deepak Chopra’s influence goes beyond the boundaries of alternative medicine. He’s still very much a part of the mainstream medical care community. For Instance, when he published the book, The Seven Habits of Highly Effective People, he used the book to launch an initiative to the United States Army. The book was later turned into a television set and now has more than one million copies in print. There is even a movie version of the publication available on DVD.
In addition, Deepak Chopra continues to hold many credentials outside of the classroom. For instance, he is the author of numerous medical books and is a certified chiropractic doctor. Additionally, Deepak Chopra is a former contestant on the reality TV series”Survivor.” In this series, he was depicted as a contestant who struggled with a severe heart condition. Because of this, he held many talks about improving one’s self-health through diet books, seminars, and speaking engagements.
One of those things that Chopra’s talk radio shows address is self-improvement. Many of his books and videos tackle this matter. He discusses how to use the ability of the mind to deal with some of the difficulties we experience in our own lives. By way of instance, he talked about the need to change our negative mindset. According to Chopra, if we continue to think that way, then we’ll remain stuck in our misery.
But some people may wonder whether there is any validity to the notion of motivational self-improvement. In response to this question, the answer is that while the idea of self-improvement might be new to most people, self-help generally is a relatively long tradition. Many ancient philosophies, spiritual texts, and motivational speakers have addressed the issue of self-improvement. Most of these have also attempted to make sense of the idea of self-improvement and motivation.
For example, some of the top speakers will address issues like self-esteem, confidence, motivation, and perseverance. All of these are important and can contribute to our overall happiness and well-being. What many speakers do is emphasize that there are many ways to approach self-improvement. They encourage us to think of what it means to be motivated. As they say,”motivation begins with a desire to change.”
