Deepak Chopra has been an influential figure in the alternative health movement and an accomplished medical, alternative practitioner. His most important books are Timeless Mind, Ageless Body and The Seven Spiritual Laws of Success, every printed in 1994 and 1993 respectively. However, it was not until sometime in the late eighties he ventured into the world of self-help writing, with his first book, Think and Grow Rich.
Though a controversial figure who presents himself as a guru, his books attract a wide assortment of readers. The principles he promotes have had the effect of establishing him as a leader in the other self-improvement circles. However, there have always been critics who question the methods he adopts. Deepak Chopra critics claim that he takes a random approach to self-improvement through inspirational saying and self-help books. They also point out that his teachings contradict the common notion that knowledge alone will bring about self-improvement.
Deepak Chopra’s method of achieving personal development is not far removed from other alternative medicine practices. His basic premise is that one can attain a state of personal development by fostering positive believing in oneself and fostering one’s self-confidence level. By applying such teachings as the eight-limbed ladder of self-help, one can attain self-actualization, which in turn results in the achievement of the goals set by the mind. As such, Deepak Chopra presents himself as a prominent figure within the alternative medicine community.
However, this doesn’t mean that Deepak Chopra’s influence goes beyond the boundaries of alternative medicine. He’s still very much a part of the mainstream medical care community. For example, when he published the book, The Seven Habits of Highly Effective People, he used the book to launch an initiative for the United States Army. The book was later turned into a television series and currently has more than one million copies in print. There is even a movie version of the book available on DVD.
In addition, Deepak Chopra continues to hold many credentials beyond the classroom. For instance, he is the author of numerous medical books and is a certified chiropractic doctor. Additionally, Deepak Chopra is a former contestant on the reality TV show”Survivor.” In this series, he was portrayed as a contestant who fought with a serious heart condition. As a result of this, he held many talks about improving one’s self-health through diet books, seminars, and speaking engagements.
One of the things that Chopra’s talk radio shows address is self-improvement. Many of his books and videos address this matter. He discusses how to use the power of the mind to deal with a few of the difficulties we experience in our lives. By way of example, he spoke about the need to change our negative mindset. According to Chopra, if we continue to think that way, then we’ll stay stuck in our distress.
However, some people may wonder whether there is any validity to the notion of motivational self-improvement. In response to this question, the solution is that while the notion of self-improvement may be new to most people, self-help in general is a relatively long tradition. Many ancient philosophies, spiritual texts, and motivational speakers have addressed the issue of self-improvement. The majority of them have also attempted to make sense of the concept of self-improvement and motivation.
For example, some of the top speakers will address issues such as self-esteem, confidence, motivation, and perseverance. All these are important and may contribute to our overall happiness and well-being. What many speakers do is highlight that there are a number of ways to approach self-improvement. They encourage us to think of what it means to be motivated. As they say,”motivation begins with a desire to change.”
