Deepak Chopra has been an influential figure in the alternative health movement and an accomplished medical, alternative practitioner. His most significant novels are Timeless Mind, Ageless Body and The Seven Spiritual Laws of Success, every published in 1994 and 1993 respectively. However, it was not till sometime in the late eighties he ventured into the realm of self-help writing, with his first book, Think and Grow Rich.

Although a controversial figure who presents himself as a guru, his novels attract a broad assortment of readers. The principles he boosts have had the effect of establishing him as a leader in the alternative self-improvement circles. However, there have always been critics who question the methods that he adopts. Deepak Chopra critics claim he takes a haphazard approach to self-improvement through inspirational saying and self explanatory books. In addition, Deepak Chopra continues to hold many credentials outside of the classroom. For instance, he is the author of numerous medical books and is a certified chiropractic doctor. Additionally, Deepak Chopra is a former contestant on the reality TV series”Survivor.” In this show, he was portrayed as a contestant who struggled with a severe heart condition. Because of this, he held many talks about improving one’s self-health through diet books, seminars, and speaking engagements.

One of those things that Chopra’s talk radio shows speech is self-improvement. Many of his books and videos tackle this matter.
