Deepak Chopra has been an influential figure in the alternative health movement and an accomplished medical, alternative practitioner. His most important books are Timeless Mind, Ageless Body and The Seven Spiritual Laws of Success, every published in 1994 and 1993 respectively. However, it wasn’t till sometime in the late eighties he ventured into the realm of self-help writing, with his first book, Think and Grow Rich.
Though a controversial figure who presents himself as a guru, his books attract a broad range of readers. The principles he promotes have had the effect of establishing him as a leader in the other self-improvement circles. But, there have always been critics who question the methods he adopts. Deepak Chopra critics claim he takes a random approach to self-improvement through inspirational saying and self-help books. They also point out that his teachings contradict the common notion that knowledge alone will lead to self-improvement.
Deepak Chopra’s method of achieving personal development is not far removed from other alternative medicine practices. His basic assumption is that you can achieve a state of personal development by fostering positive believing in oneself and fostering one’s self-confidence degree. By applying such teachings as the eight-limbed ladder of self-help, one is able to attain self-actualization, which in turn results in the achievement of the goals set by the mind. As such, Deepak Chopra presents himself as a prominent figure within the alternative medicine community.
However, this doesn’t necessarily mean Deepak Chopra’s influence goes beyond the boundaries of alternative medicine. He is still very much a part of the mainstream health care community. For example, when he wrote the book, The Seven Habits of Highly Effective People, he used the book to launch an initiative for the United States Army. The book was later turned into a television set and now has more than one million copies in print. There’s even a picture version of the publication available on DVD.
Additionally, Deepak Chopra continues to hold many credentials outside of the classroom. For instance, he is the author of numerous medical publications and is a certified chiropractic physician. Additionally, Deepak Chopra is a former contestant on the reality TV show”Survivor.” In this series, he was portrayed as a contestant who struggled with a severe heart condition. As a result of this, he held many discussions about improving one’s self-health through diet books, seminars, and speaking engagements.
One of those things that Chopra’s talk radio shows speech is self-improvement. Many of his videos and books tackle this matter. He discusses how to use the power of the mind to address some of the difficulties we experience in our lives. For example, he spoke about the need to change our negative mindset. According to Chopra, if we continue to think that way, then we’ll remain stuck in our distress.
However, some people may wonder whether there’s any validity to the idea of motivational self-improvement. In answer to this question, the answer is that while the notion of self-improvement may be new to most people, self-help generally is a relatively long tradition. Many ancient philosophies, spiritual texts, and motivational speakers have addressed the dilemma of self-improvement. The majority of these have also attempted to make sense of the idea of self-improvement and motivation.
By way of example, a number of the top speakers will tackle issues such as self-esteem, confidence, motivation, and perseverance. All of these are important and can contribute to our overall happiness and well-being. What many speakers do is highlight that there are many ways to approach self-improvement. They encourage us to think of what it means to be motivated. As they say,”motivation begins with a desire to change.”
