Deepak Chopra has been an influential figure in the alternative health movement and an accomplished medical, alternative practitioner. His most significant novels are Timeless Mind, Ageless Body and The Seven Spiritual Laws of Success, every printed in 1994 and 1993 respectively. However, it wasn’t until sometime in the late eighties he ventured into the world of self-help writing, with his first book, Think and Grow Rich.
Although a controversial figure who presents himself as a guru, his novels attract a wide range of readers. The principles he boosts have had the effect of establishing him as a leader in the other self-improvement circles. However, there have always been critics who question the methods he adopts. Deepak Chopra critics claim that he takes a haphazard approach to self-improvement through inspirational saying and self explanatory books. They also point out that his teachings contradict the common belief that knowledge alone will bring about self-improvement.
Deepak Chopra’s method of attaining personal development is not far removed from other alternative medicine practices. His basic premise is that one can achieve a state of personal development by fostering positive thinking in oneself and fostering one’s self-confidence degree. By applying such teachings as the eight-limbed ladder of self-help, one can attain self-actualization, which in turn leads to the achievement of the goals set by the mind. Therefore, Deepak Chopra presents himself as a prominent figure within the alternative medicine community.
However, this does not mean that Deepak Chopra’s influence goes beyond the boundaries of alternative medicine. He is still very much a part of the mainstream health care community. For Instance, when he wrote the book, The Seven Habits of Highly Effective People, he used the book to launch an initiative to the United States Army. The book was later turned into a television set and currently has more than one million copies in print. There’s even a picture version of the book available on DVD.
Additionally, Deepak Chopra continues to hold many credentials beyond the classroom. For example, he is the author of numerous medical books and is a certified chiropractic physician. In addition, Deepak Chopra is a former contestant on the reality TV series”Survivor.” In this series, he was portrayed as a contestant who struggled with a severe heart condition. As a result of this, he held many talks about improving one’s self-health through diet books, seminars, and speaking engagements.
One of the things that Chopra’s talk radio shows address is self-improvement. Many of his videos and books address this matter. He discusses how to use the power of the mind to deal with some of the difficulties we encounter in our lives. For instance, he spoke about the need to change our negative mindset. According to Chopra, if we continue to think that way, then we’ll remain stuck in our distress.
But some people may wonder whether there is any validity to the idea of motivational self-improvement. In response to this question, the answer is that while the notion of self-improvement may be new to most people, self-help in general is a relatively long tradition. Many ancient philosophies, religious texts, and motivational speakers have addressed the dilemma of self-improvement. The majority of them have also tried to make sense of the idea of motivation and self-improvement.
For example, some of the top speakers will tackle issues such as self-esteem, confidence, motivation, and perseverance. All of these are important and may contribute to our overall happiness and well-being. What many speakers do is highlight that there are a number of ways to approach self-improvement. They encourage us to think of what it means to be moved. As they state,”motivation starts with a desire to change.”
