Deepak Chopra has been an influential figure in the alternative health movement and an accomplished medical, alternative practitioner. His most significant novels are Timeless Mind, Ageless Body and The Seven Spiritual Laws of Success, every printed in 1994 and 1993 respectively. However, it was not until sometime in the late eighties he ventured into the world of self-help writing, together with his first book, Think and Grow Rich.
Though a controversial figure who presents himself as a guru, his books attract a broad assortment of readers. The principles he promotes have had the effect of establishing him as a leader in the alternative self-improvement circles. But, there have always been critics who question the methods that he adopts. Deepak Chopra critics claim that he takes a random approach to self-improvement through inspirational saying and self-help books. They also point out that his teachings contradict the common notion that knowledge alone will bring about self-improvement.
Deepak Chopra’s method of attaining personal development is not far removed from other alternative medicine practices. His basic premise is that you can achieve a state of personal development by fostering positive thinking in oneself and fostering one’s self-confidence degree. By applying such teachings as the eight-limbed ladder of self-help, one can attain self-actualization, which then leads to the achievement of the goals set by the mind. Therefore, Deepak Chopra presents himself as a prominent figure within the alternative medicine community.
However, this doesn’t necessarily mean Deepak Chopra’s influence goes beyond the boundaries of alternative medicine. He’s still very much a part of the mainstream health care community. For example, when he published the book, The Seven Habits of Highly Effective People, he used the book to launch an initiative to the United States Army. The book was later turned into a television series and currently has more than one million copies in print. There’s even a movie version of the publication available on DVD.
In addition, Deepak Chopra continues to hold many credentials beyond the classroom. For instance, he is the author of numerous medical publications and is a certified chiropractic physician. In addition, Deepak Chopra is a former contestant on the reality TV show”Survivor.” In this show, he was portrayed as a contestant who fought with a serious heart condition. Because of this, he held many talks about improving one’s self-health through diet books, seminars, and speaking engagements.
One of the things that Chopra’s talk radio shows address is self-improvement. Many of his videos and books address this matter. He discusses how to use the power of the mind to address some of the difficulties we experience in our own lives. For instance, he talked about the need to change our negative mindset. According to Chopra, if we continue to think that way, then we will remain stuck in our distress.
But some people may wonder whether there is any validity to the notion of motivational self-improvement. In answer to this question, the solution is that while the notion of self-improvement may be new to most people, self-help generally is a relatively long tradition. Many ancient philosophies, religious texts, and motivational speakers have addressed the dilemma of self-improvement. The majority of these have also attempted to make sense of the idea of self-improvement and motivation.
For example, a number of the top speakers will tackle issues like self-esteem, confidence, motivation, and perseverance. All of these are important and can contribute to our overall happiness and well-being. What many speakers do is highlight that there are many ways to approach self-improvement. They encourage us to think of what it means to be motivated. As they state,”motivation starts with a desire to change.”
