Deepak Chopra has been an influential figure in the alternative health movement and an accomplished medical, alternative practitioner. His most important books are Timeless Mind, Ageless Body and The Seven Spiritual Laws of Success, every printed in 1994 and 1993 respectively. However, it wasn’t until sometime in the late eighties that he ventured into the realm of self-help writing, with his first book, Think and Grow Rich.
Although a controversial figure who presents himself as a guru, his novels attract a broad range of readers. The principles he boosts have had the effect of establishing him as a pioneer in the alternative self-improvement circles. However, there have always been critics who question the methods he adopts. Deepak Chopra critics claim that he takes a haphazard approach to self-improvement through motivational saying and self explanatory books. They also point out that his teachings contradict the common notion that knowledge alone will lead to self-improvement.
Deepak Chopra’s method of achieving personal development is not far removed from other medication practices. His basic assumption is that one can achieve a state of personal growth by fostering positive thinking in oneself and fostering one’s self-confidence level. By applying such teachings as the eight-limbed ladder of self-help, one is able to attain self-actualization, which in turn results in the accomplishment of the aims set by the mind. As such, Deepak Chopra presents himself as a prominent figure within the alternative medicine community.
However, this does not necessarily mean Deepak Chopra’s influence goes beyond the boundaries of alternative medicine. He is still very much a part of the mainstream health care community. For example, when he published the book, The Seven Habits of Highly Effective People, he used the book to launch an initiative to the United States Army. The book was later turned into a television series and currently has over one million copies in print. There’s even a picture version of the book available on DVD.
Additionally, Deepak Chopra continues to hold many credentials beyond the classroom. For instance, he is the author of numerous medical publications and is a certified chiropractic physician. In addition, Deepak Chopra is a former contestant on the reality TV series”Survivor.” In this series, he was depicted as a contestant who fought with a serious heart condition. Because of this, he held many talks about improving one’s self-health through diet books, seminars, and speaking engagements.
One of the things that Chopra’s talk radio shows speech is self-improvement. Many of his books and videos tackle this matter. He discusses how to use the ability of the mind to address a few of the difficulties we encounter in our own lives. By way of instance, he spoke about the need to change our negative mindset. According to Chopra, if we continue to think this way, then we’ll stay stuck in our distress.
But some people may wonder whether there’s any validity to the notion of motivational self-improvement. In answer to this question, the answer is that while the idea of self-improvement may be new to most people, self-help generally is a relatively long tradition. Many ancient philosophies, spiritual texts, and motivational speakers have addressed the dilemma of self-improvement. Most of these have also attempted to make sense of the concept of motivation and self-improvement.
For example, some of the very best speakers will address issues such as self-esteem, confidence, motivation, and perseverance. All these are important and can contribute to our overall happiness and well-being. What many speakers do is highlight that there are many ways to approach self-improvement. They encourage us to think about what it means to be moved. As they say,”motivation starts with a desire to change.”
