Deepak Chopra has been an influential figure in the alternative health movement and an accomplished medical, alternative practitioner. His most important books are Timeless Mind, Ageless Body and The Seven Spiritual Laws of Success, each published in 1994 and 1993 respectively. However, it was not till sometime in the late eighties he ventured into the realm of self-help writing, with his first book, Think and Grow Rich.
Though a controversial figure who presents himself as a guru, his novels attract a wide assortment of readers. The principles he boosts have had the effect of establishing him as a leader in the alternative self-improvement circles. But, there have always been critics who question the methods he adopts. Deepak Chopra critics claim he takes a random approach to self-improvement through inspirational saying and self-help books. They also point out that his teachings contradict the common belief that knowledge alone will bring about self-improvement.
Deepak Chopra’s method of attaining personal development isn’t far removed from other alternative medicine practices. His basic assumption is that you can achieve a state of personal development by fostering positive thinking in oneself and fostering one’s self-confidence level. By applying such teachings as the eight-limbed ladder of self-help, one can attain self-actualization, which then results in the achievement of the goals set by the mind. Therefore, Deepak Chopra presents himself as a prominent figure within the alternative medicine community.
However, this doesn’t necessarily mean Deepak Chopra’s influence goes beyond the boundaries of alternative medicine. He’s still very much a part of the mainstream medical care community. For Instance, when he wrote the book, The Seven Habits of Highly Effective People, he used the book to launch an initiative to the United States Army. The book was later turned into a television series and now has over one million copies in print. There’s even a movie version of the book available on DVD.
Additionally, Deepak Chopra continues to hold many credentials beyond the classroom. For example, he’s the author of numerous medical books and is a certified chiropractic physician. In addition, Deepak Chopra is a former contestant on the reality TV series”Survivor.” In this series, he was portrayed as a contestant who fought with a severe heart condition. Because of this, he held many talks about improving one’s self-health through diet books, seminars, and speaking engagements.
One of those things that Chopra’s talk radio shows speech is self-improvement. Many of his books and videos address this matter. He discusses how to use the ability of the mind to deal with some of the difficulties we experience in our lives. For example, he spoke about the need to change our negative mindset. According to Chopra, if we continue to think that way, then we’ll remain stuck in our distress.
But some people may wonder whether there is any validity to the idea of motivational self-improvement. In answer to this question, the answer is that while the idea of self-improvement may be new to most people, self-help in general is a relatively long tradition. Many ancient philosophies, spiritual texts, and motivational speakers have addressed the issue of self-improvement. Most of them have also attempted to make sense of the idea of motivation and self-improvement.
For example, a number of the top speakers will tackle issues like self-esteem, confidence, motivation, and perseverance. All these are important and may contribute to our overall happiness and well-being. What many speakers do is emphasize that there are a number of ways to approach self-improvement. They encourage us to think of what it means to be motivated. As they say,”motivation starts with a desire to change.”
