Deepak Chopra has been an influential figure in the alternative health movement and an accomplished medical, alternative practitioner. His most significant books are Timeless Mind, Ageless Body and The Seven Spiritual Laws of Success, every published in 1994 and 1993 respectively. However, it wasn’t until sometime in the late eighties that he ventured into the world of self-help writing, with his first book, Think and Grow Rich.
Although a controversial figure who presents himself as a guru, his novels attract a wide range of readers. The principles he promotes have had the effect of establishing him as a pioneer in the other self-improvement circles. But, there have always been critics who question the methods that he adopts. Deepak Chopra critics claim he takes a haphazard approach to self-improvement through inspirational saying and self explanatory books. They also point out that his teachings contradict the common belief that knowledge alone will lead to self-improvement.
Deepak Chopra’s method of achieving personal development isn’t far removed from other medication practices. His basic premise is that one can achieve a state of personal growth by fostering positive believing in oneself and boosting one’s self-confidence degree. By applying such teachings as the eight-limbed ladder of self-help, one is able to attain self-actualization, which in turn results in the accomplishment of the aims set by the mind. As such, Deepak Chopra presents himself as a prominent figure within the alternative medicine community.

For example, when he published the book, The Seven Habits of Highly Effective People, he used the book to launch an initiative to the United States Army. The book was later turned into a television set and currently has more than one million copies in print. There is even a picture version of the book available on DVD.
In addition, Deepak Chopra continues to hold many credentials outside of the classroom. For example, he is the author of numerous medical publications and is a certified chiropractic physician. Additionally, Deepak Chopra is a former contestant on the reality TV series”Survivor.” In this show, he was portrayed as a contestant who fought with a severe heart condition. As a result of this, he held many discussions about improving one’s self-health through diet books, seminars, and speaking engagements.
One of the things that Chopra’s talk radio shows address is self-improvement. Many of his books and videos address this matter. He discusses how to use the power of the mind to deal with a few of the difficulties we experience in our lives. By way of example, he talked about the need to change our negative mindset. According to Chopra, if we continue to think this way, then we will remain stuck in our distress.
